Dinner and a movie? The End of The Line screening, Sat @ 6 PM

Hello Friends,

You may already know that I've been working with a group of forward thinkers to bring a documentary about sustainable fishing to Cedar Creek Gallery this Saturday night, June 26th.  I'm inviting you to join us for this fun, educational and motivating evening.

A world without fish?  Sounds more and more true as the oil spill widens, but the problem is only exacerbated by our environmental foibles.  Without change our oceans could be without fish in 50 years and it has to do with harvesting...  overfishing.

A film about sustainable fishing doesn't sound too compelling to you?  Think it will be a depressing subject?  Not true!  While packed with a lot of good information, this film is filled with beautiful underwater photography and the main message is that the problem is FIXABLE!  And we as consumers can easily be part of the solution.

For $15, with proceeds benefitting the Blue Ocean Institute,  the evening includes a sustainable seafood dinner, beverages (that means wine as well as tea), screening of the End of the Line in our own Sky Theater (the beautiful Cedar Creek gardens), ceramic sculpting and raku firing demonstrations by Alan Bennett, a Question and Answer panel at the end of the film and a raffle ticket (for great things including a scuba class from Gypsy Divers, one of my blown glass bowls, an underwater photograph by Arthur Koch, gift certificates to Cedar Creek Gallery, a fish that you see Alan raku, a cd by Kenny Shore, and more).

The music and Alan's demos start around 6pm, dinner will be served about 7:30pm, the film starts at dusk (approximately 9pm) and the Q&A is right after the film. And for those of you living in the big city worrying about the heat, it's always cooler in the country!

Space is limited so if you are interested in coming please contact me or call Cedar Creek Gallery (919-528-1041) to get on the reservation list.  Please feel free to forward this on to anyone you think might be interested.

This evening is being sponsored by Cedar Creek Gallery, Whole Foods Market, Gypsy Divers Aquatic Center, The Azul Ocean, Alan and Rosemary Bennett.  Please join us as we make a step toward a healthier planet and seafood forever.

I hope you will bring your lawn chairs or picnic blanket (and maybe flashlight) and join us!
